Visit of the Ambassador of France to the French Studies Center of the University of Bahrain, on Thursday 26th of February
HE the Ambassador of France, M. Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, and the Cultural Counselor, Dominique Chastres, paid a visit to the president of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Janahi, on Thursday 26th of February.
During this meeting, a few subjects concerning the cooperation between the French Studies Center (FSC) and the Cultural Department of the French Embassy in Bahrain were tackled – the continuation of the policy of providing linguistic and cultural scholarships to students of the FSC was one of them. Next summer, 8 students will have the chance to go to the CAVILAM in Vichy for an unforgettable experience.
The Ambassador also reminded of the Cultural Department willingness to support the creation of a degree course, which will enable the students to have a Bachelor degree in French after 3 years of studying at the FSC.
The possibility of creating an associate diploma of French with the University of Franche-Comté (Besancon) was also mentioned, in order to form the future French teachers of Bahrain. A strengthened cooperation between the two universities should begin very soon.
At last, the Ambassador visited the premises of the French Studies Center and met its students. In continuation of its policy of supporting the reinforcement of the learning materials of the Center, the Cultural Department has donated 30 books and 2 smart boards. The announcement of a future donation of 100 books (textbooks, novels, history books, dictionaries etc) was also made.
