Buffet - Al Bandar Resort

The first francophilophone party of the Archipelago was organized last Thursday, 12th of February, at Isa Town.

This party was given under the high patronage of HE the Ambassador of France, Mr. Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, and the president of the Alliance française, Mr. Khalid Fakhro, in honor of the French teachers of Bahrain. It also gathered the teachers of the public and private schools, and of the language institutes (Alliance française, Let’s Speak French), in order to show them the Alliance française under a different angle: illuminated on the outside by the talented Bahraini artists from Vuruz Vision, and liven up inside by the creative DJ/VJ Hervé Coureau.

The aim of the evening was to convey the idea that the Alliance was a place of culture to welcome the professionals of the French language, and also the French speakers and lovers of Bahrain in a warm atmosphere. More than 130 people met up in Isa Town and celebrated together - around an excellent buffet made by Jean-Pierre Renaud (chef of Al-Bandar Resort) - the joy of sharing all the cultures of France.

The cocktail was also the opportunity to unveil the logo “Bahrain in French”, which is to be the common platform of the Alliance française and of the Cultural Department of the French Embassy, and through which will be promoted their linguistic and cultural activities. Bahrain in French will also become an online social network from next fall onwards. Some of the coming events such as the launch of French Cinema club: the “café des images”, on March 3rd, were also announced by the Cultural Counselor Dominique Chastres.

At last, tombola allowed 3 lucky participants to receive dictionaries of the French language.
