Reception in honor of scholarship students
On 22 and 23 September, the Résidence de France welcomed Bahrain’s students who received scholarships co-financed by the French Embassy for a 2 to 4-week linguistic and cultural stay in France last summer.
Among them, 12 high school students from public schools in Bahrain, 8 high school students from private schools such as the British School of Bahrain, St Christopher School, Indian School and New Indian School and 13 students from the Centre d’études françaises at the University of Bahrain.
These students stayed in the language schools in Nice: Azurlingua and Vichy: Cavilam.
In their welcome speech, in the presence of Dr. Waheeb Alnaser, Vice-President of the University of Bahrain, Mr. Jean-Philippe Fabregas, Chargé d’Affaires, and Mr. Emmanuel Mayer, Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural Action, stressed the importance of these stays, which allow students to discover French culture while improving their linguistic skills.
Also present at these events, in addition to parents and students’ French teachers, were Ms. Nujood Al Dossari, Director of Intermediate Education and Head of the French Language Teaching Project at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Mohammed Khlifi, adviser to the Under-Secretary of the Minister of Education, Ms. Salma Isa, French Coordinator at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Wayne Ridgway, Principal of the British School of Bahrain, Ms. Bénédicte Bessette, Principal of the Lycée français, and Mr. Saïd Nourine, Director of the Alliance française.
