French Naval ship Tonnerre visits Bahrain [ar] [fr]

Mistral-class amphibious assault ship LHD FS Tonnerre has arrived on a visit to Bahrain on 18 January 2018.

Tonnerre (Thunder), the amphibious assault helicopter-carrier of the Marine Nationale (the French Navy), is docked at Mina Salman port.
The visit demonstrates excellent relationships and military partnership between France, the US and Bahrain. A joint French-American reception was held aboard Tonnerre under the patronage of HE Ms. Cécile Longé, French Ambassador to Bahrain and in co-ordination with the US Embassy.
Present were Tonnerre Commander (projection and command) Captain Ludovic Poitou and Commander of US troops aboard Tonnerre Captain Todd Glasser along with government and navy officials and guests.
