“Chocolate night” at Alliance française, Tuesday 18th of February
Around 100 people attended the conference “Chocolate is emotion”, given by the executive sous-chef of the Kempinski Hotel, Cyril Jeannot.
For more than one hour, the chef proposed a live performance (broadcasted on a big screen). While cooking some of his favorite chocolate recipes, he interspersed his demonstration with many anecdotes, passing on his passion for chocolate to the public.
He finally revisited the tradition of the Easter egg, staging the destruction of the so-called chocolate sculpture, which is usually kept safe as a trophy by the children.
After a quite deserved tasting session during when the audience could finally discover the multiple possibilities of baking chocolate, the night ended by the screening of the movie Chocolate in the lecture hall of Alliance française.
